German Roach

The most common type of roach to bother people in their home in Virginia is the German cockroach (Blattella germanica). The adults can grow to be between 1/2 to 5/8 inches long and are usually a shade of brown. They have wings along the back of their flat, wide body but these roaches do not fly. They are active between April and December and are hard to eradicate once they establish a population.
